May 2017 - Netemera and Kerlink
Deployment of Poland's first nationwide LPWA network

Netemera, Poland's leading Internet of Things (IoT) provider, and Kerlink, a global leader in IoT network solutions, have announced the deployment of Poland's first nationwide low-power, wide-area (LPWA) network. This initiative, known as Netemera's 'Network for Machines,' is based on LoRaWAN technology and aims to accelerate IoT adoption across the country since 2016.

Nationwide IoT Connectivity

The network, already operational in Warsaw and its suburbs, will expand to cover Poland's 15 largest cities. It is designed to support a wide range of smart applications, including water and electricity metering, air-quality monitoring, fleet management, parking, lighting, and asset tracking.
State-of-the-Art Technology
Netemera has chosen Kerlink's Wirnet iBTS and Wirnet iBTS Compact LoRaWAN gateways to power this network. These gateways provide reliable, high-performance connectivity, enabling cost savings and energy efficiency for rapid IoT implementation.

Fostering Innovation
Netemera is committed to fostering a strong IoT ecosystem in Poland. The company develops network and application servers, dedicated IoT hardware and software, and integrates third-party devices to offer flexible end-to-end solutions. Additionally, Netemera will provide SMEs and entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills needed to innovate using LoRa Alliance solutions.
Strategic Partnership
The collaboration between Netemera and Kerlink underscores a significant investment in IoT infrastructure in Poland. This partnership will drive the adoption of LoRa Alliance solutions in Central Europe, supporting various proofs of concept in smart cities, metering, and tracking solutions.
Expanding IoT Opportunities
Netemera's Network for Machines offers opportunities for IoT vendors and application developers to test new products and applications. The network's reliability and performance have been proven in multiple countries, contributing to Kerlink's international expansion.
Support from the LoRa Alliance
Geoff Mulligan, Chairman of the LoRa Alliance, praised Netemera's rapid rollout, highlighting how the alliance's ecosystem simplifies deployment for network operators. LoRaWAN's open global standard enables secure, carrier-grade IoT connectivity, making it easier for companies like Netemera to provide extensive coverage.
Future Expansion
Netemera is actively seeking partnerships with manufacturers, R&D institutions, solution providers, and start-ups to accelerate the development of innovative IoT solutions. The company also aims to collaborate with cities interested in becoming smart city pioneers.
